About the Trainer
Sherry Knorr, CPDT-KA
Sherry is a certified dog trainer with over 15 years of experience training dogs in basic obedience and solving behavioral issues such as aggression.  She has a four year Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Michigan State University and is an Animal Behavior College honors graduate.
Sherry is also a certified Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Evaluator and is member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT).

She has experience training dogs in both group and private obedience classes from beginner through advanced.  She's helped owners with a variety of behavioral issues that include, but are not limited to, aggression, housebreaking, jumping, barking, and leash pulling.  There is no breed of dog she hasn't worked with, from the smallest Chihuahua to something as large as a 160-pound Neapolitan Mastiff puppy. Whether your dog is a large, small, or mixed-breed, it doesn't matter.  Special attention will be given to develop a training plan that best meets the needs of your dog.  NO DOG IS UNTRAINABLE!

Sherry has volunteered as a trainer for the Michigan Humane Society, training shelter-dogs so they can become more adoptable.

In her free time Sherry enjoys working with her dogs:
Daisy, Tucker, and Ronnie.

To the right is a short bio on each of the trainer's dogs.  They are quite a variety....

One from the working group, one from the terrier group, and one from the hound group

Sherry has developed several programs, each designed to achieve specific results. Her approach is not one size fits all. Some of Sherry's programs include:

  • Off Leash Obedience
  • Beginner Obedience Training
  • Intermediate Obedience Training
  • Advanced Obedience Training
  • Behavior Modification
  • Behavior Management
  • Aggression Control and Management
  • Clicker Training
  • Agility Training

Daisy
is a four year old female Rottweiler.  She is advanced obedience trained, has her CGC, and is a certified Therapy Dog. She is wonderful with people, especially children, and loves animals, too -- a true ambassador for her breed.

"Miss Daisy" as she is often called, is also pictured above with the trainer.

Tucker is a ten year old male Smooth Fox Terrier.  He is also advanced obedience trained, has his CGC, and does intermediate level Agility.

Tucker is an extremely smart, energetic little dog who is sweet and adorable but can be a bit challenging at times. What can one say? He's a terrier!

Ronnie
is a two year old rescue Beagle.  He is the newest edition to the canine family and is a real sweetheart.  He's only been with the group a little over four months now so he is still working on the basics such as housebreaking and beginner obedience.
